Not just a random question, but a serious one, wondering how AI is corrupting the advert soaked on-line environment.
For me Facebook has become virtually unusable, the adverts and ‘click bait’ that has to be negotiated before getting to the groups or friends you were looking for. Google search is painful, the pages rich with ads and AI written articles – a horrifying new feature. This is only mentioning two platforms.
The simple fact is that the internet is no longer being used as it was intended. It has been overtaken by mega rich companies, by governments and political groups and their leaders who are using the platforms to further their own agendas.
It has become difficult to trust the articles presented, how can they be fact checked and validated. I have no answers to that question, and I do not know what can be done to restore the internet to become the useful trusted tool it promised to be. The article below caught my eye and is worth reading.

At least small companies like mine are still ‘findable’ though we are competing against those that can afford to pay to have their websites listed on the first pages.
