The past few days I have been working on a fascinating negative restoration project. I needed a break so yesterday Jan and I grabbed the X100T and took a couple...
Last month we made a trip to the Dan yr Ogof caves in South Wales. Needless to say this was a great day out and the little’ns enjoyed themselves. I used a simple Samsung J5 for the pictures I took that day, simply because I did not want to be lugging a camera around the caves with kids in tow.
My first visit to the caves was when I was quite small as a visitor from over the border. In those days Wales seemed a bit further away as the roads were slower and so were the cars. Nowadays I live and work in Glynneath – just around the corner from the caves.
by the entrance
There is a short uphill walk to the cave entrance from the car park. Admission fees are ok and the cafe is close by the entrance. So we went to the cafe.
Once refreshed we followed the pathway to the first of the caves. There is a useful map provided on the way in which we used to navigate.
Some of the models you see as you walk around are quite impressive and even a little intimidating – this is my favourite.
There are some close encounters too!
Daughter Bex and Craig. It was a pleasure their staying with us for a couple of days.
Loved these models
On the way out we stopped for a coffee. The coffee was good! They have a good selection of hot and cold snacks too.
Overall a very enjoyable day out. The pictures in the caves did not work well so if you want to see those visit the showcaves website.
